The Scream franchise gets another TV season on July 8 with Resurrection. This time all the horror takes place in Atlanta with a whole new cast (and a “Breakfast Club” of tropes), including the incomparable Mary J. Blige.
This is labeled as “Season 3,” but it’s going to play out more like an old school mini-series because the three-episode run will air on consecutive nights: July, 8, 9 and 10 at 9 pm.
In this chapter, Deion Elliot, a high school football star who appears to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder over the tragic loss of his twin, is the killer’s true mark, but not until Ghostface threatens the lives of his friends and classmates.
The series brings back the original iconic mask for the first time since the movies, as well as original voicebox telephone heckler Roger L. Jackson.
