The ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Trailer is finally here and you know what that means, it’s mass hysteria with cats and dogs living together time.

This approach appears to be taking a two-fisted approach to the Stranger Things thing. We don’t get a look at the original cast and the trailer doesn’t seem to have any of the original humor… but this is just a teaser. My guess is the guys and the comedy will show up in the next trailer; in a move that will have Egon’s grandkids getting the old gang back together to fight an old threat.

I got all kinds of feels with what they did with the Egon storyline. They don’t overlook his death, and the film is pretty much centered completely on Egon’s family from what we see here. It also got me in my heart’s gut when we see a carbon copy of Egon in his grandkid.

The film originally going around under the guise of ‘2020’ will be titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife instead, and will see the original cast returning to their roles. This of course, includes Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson. The film will also see the Ghostbusters pass the torch to a new generation that includes newcomer Paul Rudd.

The film will focus on a family who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife busts ghosts in theaters July 10, 2020.
