Fright Night is arguably, one of the best vampire films out there. Tom Holland did some amazing things with the first film back in 85. While speaking to SYFY Wire about the film’s 35 anniversary, he also shared that he is indeed working on a Fright Night 2.
I know what you are thinking. There is already a Fright Night: Part II and a newer Fright Night 2: New Blood. Well, this would be going back to Fright Night and would of course be ignoring the remakes.
“I’m still trying, I’m writing a sequel to Fright Night now… I’m calling it Fright Night 2: Resurrection. Well, it’s the only way to protect myself: If you wanna see something done right, do it yourself – of course, Charlie’s back, and so is Evil Ed. I’m bringing back everybody I can. I’m calling it Resurrection because we’ve got to resurrect Billy Cole and Jerry Dandridge. And now I’ll say no more,” Holland told SYFY Wire.
This sounds fantastic. I’m beyond curious how he would bring everyone back into the mix. But, I suppose when it comes to vampires that you created yourself, you can do just about any dang thing you want to. Plus, Holland has cracked the code in several films that you wouldn’t think would work, but worked like gangbusters. For example, Childs Play and Psycho II. Both films had obstacles stacked, but were both fantastic in their own right.
