Brascia died in Bozeman, Montana, where he was employed as a radio morning host. Brascia’s employer, radio station AM 1450 KMMS, said that Brascia died of natural causes in his Bozeman home.
Joey was the first post-credits screen victim in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. In the film, Joey’s murder triggers the rest of the murders that occur in the film, which are committed not by Jason Voorhees but rather Roy Burns, an ambulance driver who is revealed to be Joey’s long-lost biological father.
Besides his work in A New Beginning, Brascia appeared on television in episodes of Amazing Stories and Night Court. Brascia also directed the 1986 comedy-horror film Evil Laugh.
In November of 2017, Judy Haim, the mother of former teen idol Corey Haim, identified Brascia as the man who sexually abused her son, who died in 2010. Brascia denied the allegation.
