It feels like forever ago that Gun Media and IllFonic first announced a game based on Friday the 13th. After a long wait fans are about to finally get their hands on it.
Looks like on May 26, Friday the 13th: The Game will launch on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
The third-person survival horror game, lets you step into the shoes of a teen counselor or behind the hokey mask, (or burlap sack) of Jason Voorhees.
Playing as a counselor, is similar to the mechanics of Alien: Isolation, and has you running and hiding as Jason stalks you around Camp Crystal lake. While, playing as Jason you are tasked with hunting down those pesky counselors and standing in their way from making any choices that involve sex, drugs or breathing.
The entire game has been put in the hands of a development team made up of die-hard fans. This lead to a game that looks to be as close to the world of the films as you can possibly get. To take that awesomeness even further, Kane Hodder and Tom Savini have also lent their talents to the making of the game. Hodder doing motion capture work for Jason, and Savini coming up with some brilliant kills and an all new design for one of the Jason skins.
There has been such a long wait on this game and so many more great things we have been told it will feature. From multiple skins to even being able to play as Tommy Jarvis! With all the anticipation we have endured, the game has a lot to live up to. We here at iHORROR have high hopes and a ton of faith. The kill animations alone look brutally amazing!
Get your hockey masks and machetes ready for this one when it launches on May 26 for Xbox One, PS4 and Steam for $40.99.
