One of the films we were looking forward to in 2015 was Paramount’s Friday the 13th reboot, which we feared would not actually be ready in time for the planned November release date. With the script still in the works, it was inevitable that the date would again be moved, and indeed it has.
The Wrap reports today Paramount has shifted around a handful of its theatrical horror dates, most notably moving Friday the 13th from November 13th of this year to May 13th, 2016. This is the second time the film has been delayed, previously slated for release this March.
We don’t yet know much about the David Bruckner-directed reboot, though it was recently reported that it may be set in the 80s and may prominently feature Pamela Voorhees. There have also been reports that it will be a found footage movie, though it’s impossible to say what direction they ended up going with the film.
Also today, Paramount moved Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension from March 13th to October 23rd, 2015. In addition, The Ring reboot Rings will be released in November of this year.
We’ll have more on all of these films, as we learn it.
