WATCH ‘The Lockdown Hauntings’ Trailer with Tony Todd

Lockdown Hauntings - Tony Todd

While coronavirus has wreaked havoc on many film productions, some directors have taken full advantage the situation. Howard J. Ford’s latest feature, The Lockdown Hauntings, puts this reality on full display. Filming took place in lockdown and without any crewmembers involved in its creation, and if that doesn’t pique your interest, it also features Candyman favorite, Tony Todd!

The Lockdown Hauntings Trailer

Ford’s latest creation is a supernatural serial killer movie featuring a terrifying specter known as “The Locksmith.” Tony Todd doesn’t occupy the diabolical role in this outing, but his presence still does wonders for the film. Check out The Lockdown Hauntings trailer below:

The trailer shows that the film definitely has potential. And when you consider the fact that the director also created the hit zombie flick The Dead in 2010, you know something special is in store. If you haven’t caught his previous feature film, it’s available free as one of the best horror movies on Tubi.

The Lockdown Hauntings Synopsis

The official synopsis adds an even deeper creep factor than the trailer:

“With the streets now empty, it isn’t just nature that is taking advantage of this unprecedented global disaster. Spirits are freer than ever before and the spirit of a notorious serial killer, AKA ‘The Locksmith’, is back from the dead and he has even more potential victims. Can self-isolating detective George Parker (Angela Dixon) with the guidance of paranormal expert Jordan Myers (Tony Todd), prevent more young women from becoming victims of The Lockdown Hauntings?”

Unlike Howard J. Ford’s other films, months of planning didn’t go into The Lockdown Hauntings. In fact, Ford was supposed to be filming another movie when everything got put on hold due to the coronavirus. Then an idea popped into his head: an invisible killer we could do nothing to stop – much like COVID-19.

He put out a rallying cry on social media for actors interested in starring in the movie by filming in their own homes, and production got underway just one week later. That’s right: you get to see Tony Todd acting right from his own living room! Or – you know – wherever his laptop is set up.

The Lockdown Hauntings Release Date

Unfortunately, we’ve still got some time before we’re privy to The Lockdown Hauntings. The release will coincide with the one-year anniversary of the UK going on lockdown (March 16). You can follow the film on Facebook for updates up until that point – because we all know nothing is set in stone during these trying times.

While seven months is definitely a long way out, the wait may well be worth it. As we saw with Shudder’s Host, movies made in lockdown can turn into absolute gold. Have you stumbled across any other stellar horror flicks shot lockdown-style? Let us know about them in the comments!

Watch ‘The Burning’ At The Location Where It Was Filmed

Published

on

Fangoria is reporting that fans of the 1981 slasher The Burning will be able to have a screening of the film at the location where it was filmed. The movie is set at Camp Blackfoot which is actually the Stonehaven Nature Preserve in Ransomville, New York.

This ticketed event will take place on August 3. Guests will be able to take a tour of the grounds as well as enjoy some campfire snacks along with the screening of The Burning.

The Burning

The film came out in the early ’80s when teen slashers were being churned out in magnum force. Thanks to Sean S. Cunningham’s Friday the 13th, filmmakers wanted to get in on the low-budget, high-profit movie market and a casket load of these types of films were produced, some better than others.

The Burning is one of the good ones, mostly because of the special effects from Tom Savini who had just come off of his groundbreaking work on Dawn of the Dead and Friday the 13th. He declined to do the sequel because of its illogical premise and instead signed on to do this movie. Also, a young Jason Alexander who would later go on to play George in Seinfeld is a featured player.

Because of its practical gore, The Burning had to be heavily edited before it received an R-rating. The MPAA was under the thumb of protest groups and political bigwigs to censor violent films at the time because slashers were just so graphic and detailed in their gore.

Tickets are $50, and if you want a special t-shirt, that will cost you another $25, You can get all the information by visiting the On Set Cinema webpage.
