If you’ve been following the developments of Quentin Tarantino’s next film based around the murder of Sharon Tate, you’ll know that a lot of names have been thrown around, both confirmed and up for consideration. Next up: Timothy Olyphant (Santa Clarita Diet, The Crazies, Dreamcatcher) and Burt Reynolds.

Burt Reynolds!?

Yes, Burt Reynolds. Kurt Russell is also rumored to have an involvement with the film. And while nothing is set in stone on the above three names, we do know for sure that Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio will star.

Oh, and we can’t forget about Margot Robbie, who will play Sharon Tate.

Even if neither Reynolds, Olyphant, nor Russell makes their way into the film, Robbie, Pitt and DiCaprio already hold more than enough A-list power to make sure this is one to keep an eye out for.

The film, titled Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, will revolve around:

Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), a former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt), who are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor — Sharon Tate.

It goes without saying that the movie is based during the summer of 1969 in Los Angeles; it also goes without saying that it’s bound to be gruesome and upsetting.

Tarantino has also made an incredibly interesting statement in regards to the style of the film during CinemaCon last month. Sources have quoted him as saying:

This is probably the closest to PULP FICTION I’ve done, as opposed to a movie that really is a Los Angeles movie and it deals with a couple of lead characters, but a lot of wild supporting characters that kind of make a blanket throughout the town.

We will find out for sure who ends up making an appearance in the film when it premieres on August 9th, 2019.
