Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock’ Scares Up New Trailer/Release Date

Published

'Castle Rock' via Hulu

Hulu’s Castle Rock can be seen on the horizon as the show has received an official release date. The adaptation for the Stephen King anthology series will premiere its first three episodes on the streaming service July 25th of this year. The first season is said to be a total of 10 episodes. That sounds pretty binge-able to me.

To tide us over until then, Hulu has scared up a new trailer online, which is filled with creepy footage, Easter eggs, and ominous narration. Just what the King ordered.

Hulu posted this description with the trailer:

“A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.”

The series is being produced by J.J. Abrams and Bad robot with an all-star, ensemble cast that includes Sissy Spacek (Carrie, The Help), Bill Skarsgard (IT, IT: Chapter Two), Andre Holland (Moonlight, Selma), Melanie Lynskey (Up in the Air, The Intervention), Jane Levy (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), Scott Glenn (Daredevil, The Defenders), and Chosen Jacobs (IT, Hawaii Five-0).

Castle Rock is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing new TV series this year. Stephen King adaptations are on a role right now, and Hulu is bringing us one cinematic, rich looking experience full of mystery and foreboding atmosphere. If The Stand and Amazon’s The Dark Tower series look this good, we’re going to have a lot of Stephen King to look forward to on the small screen in the future.

What do you think of Hulu’s new trailer for Castle Rock? Stay tuned for more Stephen King news!

Arcadian Movie Trailer

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has given this film an “R” rating for its “bloody images,” hinting at the visceral and intense experience awaiting viewers. The film draws inspiration from acclaimed horror benchmarks like “A Quiet Place,” weaving a post-apocalyptic tale of a father and his two sons navigating a desolate world. Joining Nicolas Cage in this harrowing journey are Jaeden Martell, known for his role in “IT” (2017), Maxwell Jenkins from “Lost in Space,” and Sadie Soverall, featured in “Fate: The Winx Saga.” Directed by Ben Brewer (“The Trust”) and penned by Mike Nilon (“Braven”), “Arcadian” promises a unique blend of poignant storytelling and electrifying survival horror.

‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ Is a Go with Enhanced Budget and New Characters

Winnie the Pooh 3

Wow, they’re churning things out fast! The upcoming sequel “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” is officially moving forward, promising an expanded narrative with a larger budget and the introduction of beloved characters from A.A. Milne’s original tales. As confirmed by Variety, the third installment in the horror franchise will welcome Rabbit, the heffalumps, and the woozles into its dark and twisted narrative.

This sequel is a part of an ambitious cinematic universe that reimagines children’s stories as horror tales. Alongside “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” and its first sequel, the universe includes films such as “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare”, “Bambi: The Reckoning,” and “Pinocchio Unstrung”. These movies are set to converge in the crossover event “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” slated for a 2025 release.

Winnie the Pooh Poohniverse

The creation of these films was made possible when A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book “Winnie-the-Pooh” entered the public domain last year, allowing filmmakers to explore these cherished characters in unprecedented ways. Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield and producer Scott Jeffrey Chambers, of Jagged Edge Productions, have led the charge in this innovative endeavor.

The inclusion of Rabbit, heffalumps, and woozles in the upcoming sequel introduces a new layer to the franchise. In Milne’s original stories, heffalumps are imagined creatures resembling elephants, while woozles are known for their weasel-like characteristics and a penchant for stealing honey. Their roles in the narrative remain to be seen, but their addition promises to enrich the horror universe with deeper connections to the source material.
