Brand New Cherry Flavor, based on the cult horror novel by Todd Grimson, is headed to Netflix as an eight-episode series with one hell of a cast reports Deadline.

The series tells the story of Lisa Nova, an aspiring writer/director in 1990s Los Angeles, who finds herself on a mind-altering journey from Beverly Hills to Brazil in a tale of supernatural revenge.

Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel) is set to star in the series as Lisa Nova. She will be joined by Catherine Keener (Get Out), Manny Jacinto (Bad Times at the El Royale), Jeff Ward (Channel Zero: The Dream Door), and Eric Lange (Escape at Dannemora).

Nick Antosca (The Act) and Lenore Zion (Billions) will write the series. They previously worked together on Channel Zero.

Grimson’s novel was first published back in 1996 and has since taken on a life of its own, becoming one of those books you don’t know about until you do and when you do, you have to read it.

There is no release date scheduled for the series at this time, so there’s plenty of time to pick up a copy of the novel and read this fun and terrifying story. Kindle versions of Brand New Cherry Flavor are available on Amazon.

Waylon Jordan is a lifelong fan of genre fiction and film especially those with a supernatural element. He firmly believes that horror reflects collective fears of society and can be used as a tool for social change.
