Five Night’s at Freddy’s was no slouch in the jump scare department. The incredibly successful video game had enough staying power to spawn a bunch of sequels, toys and a rabid fan base. Well, now those terrifying, animatronic, evil scamps have found their way into the world of the board game and somehow managed to keep their jump scare sensibilities intact.
In Moose Games Five Nights at Freddy’s, you are tasked with using a pair of tongs in order to grab pizza slices out of Fazbear’s pizza tray without waking him up.
This is in the same vein as Operation, in that you have to use steady hands and skills to carefully grab items without disturbing anything. If you do ole Fazbear will give you a pretty intense jump scare.
It’s a fun game to play with friends. Me and some friends made it into a drinking game by adding some of our own rules which added to the hilarity of trying to keep a steady hand.
The rules of the game are pretty simple. You and your friends spin a wheel that shows you what color of pizza to collect from the pizza tray. The first to collect all of that pizza without waking Fazbear is the winner.
What I really like about the design of Fazbear, is how when I’m not playing the game I can leave him on a shelf for aesthetics. He makes a pretty cool looking action figure in addition to being the center of the game. This allows for him to serve as both creepy game piece and creepy display piece.
