The Resident Evil film is being directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down). While, there aren’t any exact details out at the moment. We do know that the film will explore the first and second Capcom games and their characters. This means that Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, Leon Kennedy and other fan favorites will make their appearance. Residence of Evil posted some set photos in which we get a look at some exciting glimpses that point at the first games’ intro.

If you recall during the intro of Resident Evil, S.T.A.R.S’ alpha team was out looking for a downed helicopter from S.T.A.R.S. bravo team who had gone missing in Racoon Forest. When alpha team eventually finds the helicopter near famous Spencer Mansion, they have to make a run for it and have to take refuge in the mansion.
Well, this looks like that S.T.A.R.S. helicopter and this appears to be that mansion. It looks like Roberts and team did their homework and are taking the source material very seriously.
While, PT Anderson’s Resident Evil films were fun in their unique zombie slaying ways, they weren’t very interested in the world that the Capcom games had setup.
If you recall, 1996’s Resident Evil game took a squad of Racoon Police Department’s S.T.A.R.S unit to investigate cases of possible cannibalism in Raccoon Forest. When the group dips into a mansion for safety, they are forced to survive the night against zombies and monsters.
