There are few horror movie moments more indelibly etched into the minds of fans than the finale to the original Friday the 13th, which provided us with our very first introduction to Jason Voorhees. Nobody could have known, back then, just how much of a pop culture icon that deformed young boy would soon become.
Countless Jason action figures/collectibles have been released over the years, with companies like Mezco, NECA, McFarlane and Sideshow Collectibles making toys based on each individual installment in the franchise. And yet, we still haven’t seen an action figure based on Jason’s first appearance.
That all changes later this year with NECA’s 35th anniversary tribute set, which will include a brand new figure of Mrs. Voorhees as well as the first figure of young Jason. The set, which has only been teased, will be exclusive to this July’s San Diego Comic-Con, making this year’s event a must-attend for horror fans.
Though we haven’t yet seen the finished Pamela Voorhees figure, you’ll find the previously teased prototype head sculpt below, along with a closer look at Young Jason’s sculpt. July can’t come soon enough!
