From the halls of a High School Musical to the city streets as a maniacal killer, Zac Efron has now completed his genre cinema bucket list.
His hunky boy next door image is getting a scary twist as he takes on the role of the vanilla and charismatic strangler Ted Bundy in the partial bio-pic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile directed by Joe Berlinger.
Here is your first official look at the actor in the role:
The Sundance Institute has recently announced their festival lineup and Efron’s movie is among the most anticipated.
The film will chronicle Bundy’s life through the eyes of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins). Kloepfer had long suspected that her beau was the killer.
Efron took to social media this year to give his fans some selfies from the set including one sitting in a 1968 Volkswagon Beetle, the car Bundy used to trap his victims and contained so much DNA evidence it led to his conviction.
Bundy actually owned two VW Beetles, the one that fingered him in the murders is on display at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN.
The Sundance Festival begins on January 24.
