The big Predator news keeps on coming. Last week, we announced that there Dan Trachtenberg the dude behind 10 Cloverfield Lane was working on a fifth film. This came as a bit of a bummer to Trachtenberg who was attempting to keep this whole thing under wraps. But, those things are really tough to do in the modern day. Now, there is news saying that the fifth film that he is working on is going to be a prequel set in the past.
The news comes from Alien Vs. Predator Galaxy. This bit of news points to the very exciting rumor that the next Predator film will indeed be a prequel that is set in the past. In particularly, America while it was still being settled. So, Native Americans prior to their land being taken by settlers.
That is an awesome world to set a Predator story in. The warriors from that time going up against a Predator would be an awesome thing to see on the big screen.
The film that was going under the project name of “Skulls” “follows a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditions to become a warrior.” Yes, please! Also, could this set up a connection between William M. “Sonny” Landham who played Billy in 1987’s Predator?
For those familiar with the long history of Predators in comics, there have long been connections with Native Americans and the Middle Ages. Both, very exciting arenas to set a Predator hunt in.
