A fifth Predator film is in the works from 20th Century Studios. This time around 10 Cloverfield Lane’s director, Dan Trachtenberg is set to direct. This comes as a bit of a surprise considering the box office failure that Shane Black’s Predator film had.
Right now, there is no word on if Trachtenberg’s film will be a sequel or a complete reboot. But, considering the editing nightmare that Black’s film ended up being , we are going to bet on a reboot. The end of Black’s film brought in a Predator killer suit that looked pretty cool. I would be excited about a film that used that suit and brought back Arnie Schwarzenegger’s character Dutch from the original Predator.
No further details were given at the moment. But, Trachtenberg is a great fit for the world of Predator. His approach to Cloverfield was a great entry into the franchise. An ear and eye for sci-fi is vital in this film. If you recall the end of 10 Cloverfield Lane, Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character has to fight some creatures just outside of the bunker that she had been in. That is the sort of sci-fi that would work.
