Deadline is reporting that best-selling post-apocalyptic game franchise, Fallout, is in development as a series at Amazon Studios. Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will co-produce the series under their Kilter Films banner alongside Amazon and Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
This is the first project to come out of the overall deal that was signed between Amazon and Kilter Films.
Amazon teased the new project on Twitter:

Set in the 22nd and 23rd century with a heavy post-war 1950s U.S. aesthetic, the award-winning RPG has produced numerous chapters and is easily one of the most successful games of its type.
“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,” Kilter Films’ Joy and Nolan said in a statement. “Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”
Talk of a series development of the games has been going on for ages and it will be interesting to see what Nolan, Joy, and Amazon create. The producers certainly have a knack for blending genres and telling compelling stories.
iHorror will keep you posted on the series details as they become available.
