After taking their most recent feature film – The Heretics – on an international festival circuit tour, Black Fawn Distrubution are ready to bring it home. They’ve just announced they’ll be teaming up with A71 Entertainment for a Blu-Ray/DVD home video release.
Black Fawn Films have quickly become a staple in the Canadian and international horror community. With a track record of indie genre hits like The Sublet, Bite, Antisocial, The Drownsman, Let Her Out, and Bed of the Dead, their resume is padded with films that branch out from the formulaic standard.
Directed by Chad Archibald (Bite, The Drownsman) from a script written by Jayme Laforest (Bite), The Heretics stars Nina Kiri, Jorja Cadence, Ry Barrett, Nina Richmond and Will King, and was produced by Black Fawn Films and Breakthrough Entertainment.
The synopsis is as follows:
Part body-horror and part cabin-in-the-woods thriller, The Heretics adds to Archibald’s legacy of well crafted horror films featuring tightly wound tension and practical special effects.
“We travelled to festivals all over the world with The Heretics and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this film home this September,” says director Chad Archibald. “We’ve got a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack locked and loaded with special features specially designed by the creative teams at Black Fawn Distribution and A71.”
The Blu-Ray/DVD release will feature the standard Director and Producer commentary as well as special behind-the-scenes featurettes.
As a bonus option (part of the home video release), Black Fawn Distribution will also be offering an exclusive “The Heretics Blacklist Package” which will include signed copies of the film on Blu-Ray/DVD, mini lobby cards, on screen props from the film, cast autographs, a “Summon Your Own Demon” kit and more.
If you’re as curious as I am about that “Summon Your Own Demon” kit, you can pre-order your package directly through Black Fawn Distribution (note: prices are listed in Canadian dollars).
The Heretics will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 18, 2018. You can find the trailer and Blu-Ray/DVD cover art below.
