Way back in 2002, Gore Verbinski directed the exceptional American remake of terrifying J-horror flick The Ring, and a sequel followed three years later. Now, 14 years after the franchise was brought to the States, Samara is crawling back out of that creepy ass well for third installment Rings; and we’ve got the trailer for ya today!
In this brand new chapter…
A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.
Contrary to early reports, director F. Javier Gutierrez clarified earlier this year that Rings is not a prequel, but rather a new installment that’s set 13 years after the events of The Ring. Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, Johnny Galecki, and Vincent D’Onofrio star.
Rings will hit theaters on October 28th.
