‘Evil Dead’ Remake Sequel Would Have Teamed Up Ash Williams and Mia

by Trey Hilburn III

This is why we can’t have nice things, you guys. This is one of those bittersweet bits of news. It turns out that Fede Álvarez had big plans for his follow-up to 2013’s Evil Dead remake. The plan? Well, it was to form a deadite slaying duo in the form of a Ash Williams and Mia team-up.

This shocking bit of news came up on Bloody Disgusting’s Boo Crew Podcast. The conversation that focused on Álvarez’s body of work inevitably lead to a talk about the unmade Evil Dead remake sequel.

We started writing a sequel thinking about what the sequel is going to be. We all agreed it was going to happen. Rodoand I started thinking about it. We had the full story and then basically, it was strange…the whole intention was to do that, to team up. That was always the goal, but I think Sam had different goals. Sam wanted to have Bruce back for the TV show that came out a few years after that.

What would the whole thing have looked like? It’s incredible to think about. Yes, it’s painful to know that we are likely to never see what could have been, but on the bright side we did get 2 whole seasons of Ash Williams kicking ass in Starz Ash Vs. Evil Dead.

Which would you have rather had? The Ash and Mia team up in a sequel to Evil Dead or The TV series we received? Let us know in the comments section.
