‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season Two Completes Filming

Published

on

The Umbrella Academy

Season two of The Umbrella Academy has officially wrapped filming. The genre-bending Netflix series, based on the comics by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way was one of the most talked about series of this year

There is no official release date for the new season as of yet.

SPOILERS BELOW–YOU’VE BEEN WARNED

At the beginning of season one, we were told that in October of 1989, 43 women gave birth at the exact same time all around the world. This might not be totally unusual except that none of those women had been pregnant when they woke up that morning. A billionaire by the name of Reginald Hargreeves managed to find and adopt seven of those children.

He took them back to his home and “raised” them discovering that they had remarkable abilities as they grew and rather than giving them names, simply gave them numbers according to their use. They became their own crime-fighting team, and Sir Reginald became even more famous than he’d been before.

Eventually the team went their separate ways, reuniting only after their “father” dies.

Super-strong Luther (Tom Hopper), dead-shot Diego (David Castaneda), mind-influencing Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), spirit-medium Klaus (Robert Sheehan), time-traveling #5 (Aidan Gallagher), and Vanya (Ellen Page), who we were told had no powers at all (LIES) all meet at the mansion that was their childhood home to discover that things there are just as dysfunctional as ever.

Oh, and Ben (Justin Min), their brother who inexplicably died before the series starts is also there, but the only one who can see him is Klaus.

Before long, they find themselves embroiled in series of events that could lead to the end of the world.

When the siblings find out that Vanya was actually the most powerful of them all and could destroy everything they love, they come together to stop her and we were left with one hell of a cliffhanger as #5 attempted to take them back in time to change the events of their current world-ending present.

Whew…did I get it all in?

No, wait, there were also two time-traveling assassins played to the hilt by Mary J. Blige and Cameron Britton, a sentient-talking chimpanzee named Pogo, and an android “mother” who helped raise them played by Jordan Claire-Robbins.

There, that’s it.

The 45 million households who viewed the series in its opening months were left with their jaws on the floor anticipating what would happen next and with filming wrapped we’ll be hotly anticipating where things will go with season two.

Arcadian Movie Trailer

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has given this film an “R” rating for its “bloody images,” hinting at the visceral and intense experience awaiting viewers. The film draws inspiration from acclaimed horror benchmarks like “A Quiet Place,” weaving a post-apocalyptic tale of a father and his two sons navigating a desolate world. Following a catastrophic event that depopulates the planet, the family faces the dual challenge of surviving their dystopian environment and eluding mysterious nocturnal creatures.

Joining Nicolas Cage in this harrowing journey are Jaeden Martell, known for his role in “IT” (2017), Maxwell Jenkins from “Lost in Space,” and Sadie Soverall, featured in “Fate: The Winx Saga.” Directed by Ben Brewer (“The Trust”) and penned by Mike Nilon (“Braven”), “Arcadian” promises a unique blend of poignant storytelling and electrifying survival horror.

‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ Is a Go with Enhanced Budget and New Characters

Winnie the Pooh 3

Wow, they’re churning things out fast! The upcoming sequel “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” is officially moving forward, promising an expanded narrative with a larger budget and the introduction of beloved characters from A.A. Milne’s original tales. As confirmed by Variety, the third installment in the horror franchise will welcome Rabbit, the heffalumps, and the woozles into its dark and twisted narrative.

This sequel is a part of an ambitious cinematic universe that reimagines children’s stories as horror tales. Alongside “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” and its first sequel, the universe includes films such as “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare”, “Bambi: The Reckoning,” and “Pinocchio Unstrung”. These movies are set to converge in the crossover event “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” slated for a 2025 release.

Winnie the Pooh Poohniverse

The creation of these films was made possible when A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book “Winnie-the-Pooh” entered the public domain last year, allowing filmmakers to explore these cherished characters in unprecedented ways. Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield and producer Scott Jeffrey Chambers, of Jagged Edge Productions, have led the charge in this innovative endeavor.

The inclusion of Rabbit, heffalumps, and woozles in the upcoming sequel introduces a new layer to the franchise. In Milne’s original stories, heffalumps are imagined creatures resembling elephants, while woozles are known for their weasel-like characteristics and a penchant for stealing honey. Their roles in the narrative remain to be seen, but their addition promises to enrich the horror universe with deeper connections to the source material.
