Elizabeth Olsen to Play Real-Life Axe Murderer for HBO From Book by Joe Bob Briggs

by Trey Hilburn III

I don’t know if you guys watched Wandavision, but it gave me a whole new appreciation of Elizabeth Olsen. She was a powerhouse in that role for the entirety of the season. Now, Olsen is moving from Wandavision into a horrorvision direction with her next film titled Love and Death for and HBO Max series.

The series centers on Candy Montgomery, a Texan woman who killed her neighbor with an axe. She did that by burying said axe in said neighbor 41 times. Montgomery did all that because she was having an affair with that unfortunate neighbor’s husband. Of course, Olsen will play the lead role of Montgomery.

The script that David E. Kelly is working on is based on a book titled Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs by John Boom and Jim Atkinson. If the name John Bloom sounds familiar it should. We all know Bloom as his larger than life character/alter-ego Joe Bob Briggs, the famous movie host that is currently in the third season of The Last Drive-In on Shudder. The book documents the ins and outs of the crime of passion and is partly made up of Texas Monthly articles.

Umm, a true story about a Texan axe murderer written by Joe Bob Briggs a.k.a, John Bloom? Count me the heck in, please.

What do you guys think? Are you excited about Love and Death? Excited that it stars Olsen or that it’s written by Briggs/Bloom? Let us know in the comments.
