It was almost a full year ago that Eli Roth’s next film The Green Inferno was unexpectedly pulled from the release schedule, originally set to hit theaters in September of last year. It seemed that behind the scenes issues were holding up the cannibal flick in release date limbo, and today we’ve finally gotten more word about the situation.

And the news, my friends, is very good.

In a video posted to Blumhouse Productions’ social media accounts this afternoon, Eli Roth appeared in the Blumhouse offices to inform the world that the studio has saved The Green Inferno from the Hell it had been in for the past year. They will release the film into theaters on September 25th, with more specific details coming in the near future.

Written and directed by Roth, The Green Inferno follows a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save the rainforest. However, once they arrive in this vast green landscape, they soon discover that they are not alone… and that no good deed goes unpunished.
