Pandora is about to be a heck of a busy and a much bloodier place. We only just saw the release of Borderlands 3, and here we are already receiving more time to spend in the chaotic confines of Pandora. Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) is up to direct a film adaptation of the popular Gearbox video game series.

“I’m so excited to dive into the world of Borderlands, and I could not be doing it with a better script, producing team and studio. I have a long, successful history with Lionsgate — I feel like we have grown up together and that everything in my directing career has led to a project of this scale and ambition,” Roth said in a statement to THR.

Craig Mazin screenwriter for HBO’s Chernobyl will will pen the script. It will have Ari Arad and Erik Feig on a producers.

That is certainly a lot going on there. Eli Roth can sure bring the violence and bizarre post apocalyptic tone to the Borderlands screen. With a Chernobyl writer on board, the sky is the limit. This all comes off of the popularity of the video game adaptation of Sonic The Hedgehog which ended up being pretty dang great.

No cast has been chosen at this time but that doesn’t mean we can’t start dreaming? Who would you cast in Borderlands roles? Let us know in the comments section.
