Earlier this Summer, we here at iHorror brought you the disturbingly cruel news that the beloved California Adventure ride, Disney’s Tower of Terror would soon be replaced with a Guardians Of The Galaxy attraction in regards to expanding the Marvel universe throughout the park. Now that we have an official date for the terrifying Twilight Zone ride to give its riders one last scream, it really is sinking in that the amazing attraction that pays homage to “the dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity,” will be gone forever.
This is depressing.
The Tower Of Terror elevator’s will drop for the last time on January 2nd, 2017 at Disney’s California Adventure. Although the ride will remain open in Disney’s Orlando location, it truly is somber news for fans of the ride on the west coast. To help send off the attraction that so many flock to specifically at the amusement park, the Tower will offer riders a special photo opportunity by snapping a photo of them “checking out” of the iconic hotel starting September 9th. The ride will also feature for the first time an opportunity to experience the ride in the pitch-black darkness after sundown! As if that ride isn’t scary enough, am I right? I have a bit of a fear of heights, don’t judge my wimpy statement.
While it is sad to see The Tower leave, we still have a few months to enjoy it west coasters. So if you’ve never had the chance to experience this thrilling attraction, I absolutely urge you to do so before the Hotel checks out its last victim forever. We will miss you Tower Of Terror.
