Ghostbusters have never lost popularity, if anything, it has grown in popularity. During the 80’s and 90’s, we were fortunate enough to live in the middle of this boom. Toys, pajamas, toothpaste, games… you name it. Speaking of games, those NES ports of the Ghostbusters games were “meh” to say the least. Still, it’s fun to pop them in from time to time and pretend you are busting some ghosts.
And what better way to play your classic NES games than on a fully functional Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters mode of transportation? Sure, it can’t get you any place (unless you’re Ralph the motorcycle mouse), but you can play those 8-bit cartridges in style!
Built by Ultimate Customs, the exterior is a die cast Hot-Wheels Ecto-1 (duh), gutted and replaced with working Nintendo components with the roof-rack acting as the hinge (that’s where the cartridge goes) and has functioning blue LED lights in the sirens! Not only that, the controllers are customized to match the Ghostbusters theme, showcasing the “no ghosts” logo, and even the buttons glow a ghoulish green!
If you ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts, then check out their Ebay store and pick it up, if you have about 300 bones to spare, but you can browse their other customized NES systems.
