Deborah Voorhees’ is on a serious roll with casting for her film 13 Fanboy. Last week, they announced the Corey Feldman would be joining the slasher with a seriously meta twist, and now, Dee Wallace has signed on to portray a “fictionalized version of herself”, as well.
Wallace is a horror icon with appearances in some of the films that have helped shape the modern face of the genre. Whether it was Critters or Cujo, The Howling or the 80s reboot of The Twilight Zone, the actress was a part of it in some way, and her presence has never diminished.
Wallace and Feldman join a star-studded genre cast that includes Kane Hodder, Judie Aronson, C.J. Graham, and more as well as relative newcomers Andrew Leighty and Vincente DiSanti who created the Friday the 13th fan film Never Hike Alone.
The film tells the story of a dangerous and delusional horror fan whose obsession turns violent as he begins stalking and killing the stars of his favorite films, and was inspired by some of the disturbing “fan mail” that Voorhees, who will also appear in the film, received over the years.
