The DC Universe and James Wan produced Swamp Thing is moving full steam ahead with promotion including a brand new teaser.
Filled with screams, quick cuts, and just the right amount of tension, the new teaser looks like the horror aspect of the iconic character will move to the foreground.
Only last week, we reported that production had been shut down early on the new series due to “creative differences” between DCU and its parent company, Warner Media. Though the details of those differences have been kept under wraps, it’s possible this may be due to reports of Warner Media launching a larger streaming platform later this year in conjunction with AT&T.
The announcement of the production shutdown came with a short teaser that showed very little other than the anti-hero himself emerging from the swamp.
Swamp Thing is set to debut May 31, 2019 on the DCU streaming app and will star Jennifer Beals (The Bride), Virginia Madsen (Candyman), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), and Crystal Reed (MTV’s Teen Wolf). Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), who starred in the 80s film version of Swamp Thing, is also slated to appear in the series.
