Deadline is reporting that David Duchovny has joined the growing cast of Blumhouse, Sony, and Red Wagon Entertainment’s reboot of The Craft.
The award-winning actor is no stranger to the strange and unusual. He made a name for himself as Fox “Spooky” Mulder on The X-Files, which ran for multiple seasons and spawned video games and movies alike in its wake. Fans will also remember him for his–somewhat–risky and oh-so-satisfying appearances on Twin Peaks and Californication.
There is no word yet on who exactly Duchovny will be playing in the new film. The production has been particularly tight-lipped, but it wouldn’t be difficult to see him as a father to one of the film’s stars.
The Craft, which is written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones, is based on the 1996 film by the same name which told the story of a teenage girl who moves to a new school and finds herself initiated into a coven of young, and somewhat unbalanced witches.
The original film was directed by Andrew Fleming, who will serve as an executive producer on the reboot.
Duchovny joins the previously announced Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, and Nicholas Galitzine.
There is still no official release date for the new film, but iHorror will keep you posted when that information becomes available.
