This looks like it’s going to be Stephen King’s year, with a new adaptation of IT coming out in September, a recently confirmed Blumhouse “Firestarter” re-boot and now the highly-anticipated book series “The Dark Tower” dropping a full trailer to drooling audiences today.

The movie stars Idris Elba as Roland Deschain, AKA The Gunslinger, and Matthew McConaughey as his mortal enemy Walter Padick.

Enter the earthly youngster Tom Taylor as a protégé to the marksmen and add lines like, “I do not kill with my gun, I kill with my heart” and you know this film is going to be an epic and bloody tale of good versus evil; a King specialty.

Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel takes over the reigns as director and from the looks of the trailer, he has created a world of fantasy and adventure, with stunning visuals dipped in Old West sepia tone.

King-novels-turned-movies can sometimes be hit or miss, but as The Gunslinger says in the trailer just before entering a portal to Earth, “Alright, let’s go.”

Let’s go indeed.

“Dark Tower” will be released in theaters on August 4.
