The west coast gets some convention love this last week in March with two shows in California.

Monsterpalooza: March 28-30, Burbank, CA

Arguably California’s biggest horror convention, Monsterpalooza, invades Burbank Airport Hotel & Convention Center. Over the years, the show’s focus has been on “The Art of Monsters,” and has includes makeup schools doing live demos and holding contests, as well as independent artists exhibiting in the vendor room. If there ever was a place to see this incredibly artistry, it be just outside of Hollywood (isn’t that what horror is anyway?). There are quite a few guests coming through; some of these guests you wouldn’t normally be able to see outside of the LA area. These guests include Rutger Hauer, Lance Henriksen, Tippi Hedren, Dee Snider, and a Hellraiser reunion. The events are too many to begin listing, so check out what’s going on at Monsterpalooza here.

Twisted Terror

Twisted Terror Convention: March 29-30, Sacramento, CA

A brand new convention comes to Sacramento for a two-day show this weekend and, for a brand new show, they have quite the lineup.  The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs, Halloween’s Tyler Mane, The Hills Have Eyes’ Michael Berryman, Kevin Tenney, Tiffany Shepis, Josh Stewart and more. There’s a schedule of films available on the site, as well as featured vendors. Check it out!
