"Salem's Lot"

These past few years have been great for Stephen King’s wallet thanks to his fans so why not pay them back a little?

That’s what one television company wants to do by looking for a lucky fan to binge watch 13 movie adaptations of his most famous works before Halloween (Unfortunately that also includes Dreamcatcher).

USDish.com is issuing the challenge and if you’re selected (and live) you’ll bank a lucky $1,300. Also, all 13 King movies are on them. Bonus!

The King-inspired movies are as follows:

Carrie (original or 2013 remake)

Children of the Corn

Christine

Creepshow

Cujo

Dreamcatcher

It (original or 2017 remake)

The Mist

Pet Sematary (original or 2019 remake)

Salem’s Lot

The Shining

Thinner

Misery

Dish is also interested in how you react to King’s films in real-time, here is what they say in the rules:

“You will track your heart rate and jump scares. You’ll let us know who joined in on the scares with you. You’ll let us know what you thought before watching certain movies, and if your feelings changed after you completed them. You’ll even log your sleep—if you can sleep. We want to know all this and more! We’ll provide a worksheet to help guide you along the way, but you’re not limited to what we give you—feel free to share your thoughts, like a journal, and give us all the frightening deets!”

Applicants must be 18 years or older and a US citizen

If cold hard cash isn’t enough, the company is also giving away a Stephen King survival kit which includes:

  • We’ll provide a Fitbit to help you track your heart rate during some of the more intense scenes. Think “you’ll float too” or the prom scene in Carrie.
  • We’ll also give you a movie theater gift card to add a 14th movie to your list, either It: Chapter 2 or Doctor Sleep, whichever nightmare you prefer (you won’t be required to report on this specific movie experience—just try to enjoy the show).
  • Once you watch all 13 movies and log your report, we’ll pay you $1,300! Spend it how you want. May we recommend a relaxing spa trip?

Applications are open through Oct. 15.
