For all of you Stephen King Fans out there, you will not need to wait long for a new novel to wrap your eyes in. King will enlighten us with his new novel entitled Revival. King is not showing any signs of slowing down, with the release of Mr. Mercedes back in June; Stephen King’s Revival will mark the second novel released by the author this year.
The novel has a release date of November 11, 2014. What is even more exciting about this new novel is that a book signing has been announced. Starting on November 11th King will participate in a six-city book tour to promote the release of Revival. King will travel to New York City, Washington, DC, Kansas City, MO, Wichita, KS, Austin, TX, and South Portland, ME.
Personally I am excited and looking forward to reading this novel, and I have an inkling that Revival will be a book that I will not be able to put down. King has always interested me as an author since I was very young; my grandmother read many of his books in the eighties and has passed them down to me. King has written more than 50 novels, over 100 short stories and a few hundred non-fiction essays. Even though King is best known for his horror, I enjoy the fact that he is quite diversified with his writings. I believe King to be a successful and innovative writer, and I do look forward to his future projects.
In a small New England town, over half a century ago, a shadow falls over a small boy playing with his toy soldiers. Jamie Morton looks up to see a striking man, the new minister. Charles Jacobs, along with his beautiful wife, will transform the local church. The men and boys are all a bit in love with Mrs. Jacobs; the women and girls feel the same about Reverend Jacobs—including Jamie’s mother and beloved sister, Claire. With Jamie, the Reverend shares a deeper bond based on a secret obsession. When tragedy strikes the Jacobs family, this charismatic preacher curses God, mocks all religious belief, and is banished from the shocked town. Jamie has demons of his own. Wed to his guitar from the age of 13, he plays in bands across the country, living the nomadic lifestyle of bar-band rock and roll while fleeing from his family’s horrific loss. In his mid-thirties—addicted to heroin, stranded, desperate—Jamie meets Charles Jacobs again, with profound consequences for both men. Their bond becomes a pact beyond even the Devil’s devising, and Jamie discovers that revival has many meanings.
