A student at the University of North Carolina and her roommate had decided that their off-campus apartment was haunted.

Maddie, a junior at UNC had noticed that items of her clothing had gone missing and had even found hand-prints on her bathroom wall.

It was, to say the least, a creepy situation.

On February 2, however, events were taken to a whole new level when she heard rattling noises coming from her closet. Maddie thought it might have been a raccoon, but she called out, “Who’s there?”

To her utter shock and horror, a voice replied, “Oh, my name is Drew.”

Wait…what?

Finding her courage, Maddie opened the door to find 30 year old Andrew Clyde Swofford wearing her clothes. Swofford also had a backpack full of other clothes that he apparently planned to take with him.

Sounds like something out of a horror movie, right?!

Maddie called the police and waited as calmly as possible, chatting with Drew to keep him occupied and allowing him to continue trying on her clothes, though she drew a line when he asked if he could give her a hug.

The man did not resist when police arrived and took him into custody. Apparently, he was wanted for failing to appear at a court date on previous charges.

Maddie and her roommate expressed their intention to move out of the apartment, and we really can’t blame them. Swofford had obviously entered the apartment multiple times!

We hope it was only him…
