Clive Barker’s ‘Books of Blood’ Gets a Telling Teaser Trailer

One of Clive Barker’s most popular books, Books of Blood received a long awaited teaser for its upcoming Hulu adaptation. As expected it looks to be taking some very dark turns.

The trailer gives a brief look at what’s in store this October. Most notably, it includes a shot of the the Books of Blood magically etched into an unfortunate soul’s flesh.

“Based on a short story by Barker with contributing original material, Books of Blood takes a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.”

Clive Barker’s Books of Blood short stories have been adapted to screen in the past in the form of The Midnight Meat Train and Dread. And while, The Midnight Meat Train was a good film overall, it and other adaptations have failed to capture the true darkly macabre nature of Barker’s work.

Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron Yul Vazque, Freda Foh Shen (Ad Astra), Andy McQueen (Farenheit 451 and Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest) star.

The series is written by Adam Simon and Brannon Braga and is executive produced by Seth McFarlane.

Books of Blood hits Hulu just in time for the Halloween season beginning Oct. 7.
