If you recall in 1993, Super Nintendo saw the release of LucasArts’ Zombies Ate My Neighbors. The game was a top-down shooter that saw you and a second player as brother and sister who have to go out into front lawns of suburbs and take on zombies and atomic age monsters.
Konami’s game was an immediate hit and was a special sort of gateway horror that had tons of nods to all genres of horror, but especially zombies.
The later sequel Ghoul Patrol saw more of the same protagonists Zeke and Julie were back to fight the forces of horror.
We are now due for a re-release that will see smoothed out graphics and will see the addition of saves and online co-op play!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors releases on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One beginning June 29.
You will also be able to pickup the duo of games as a value pack. This of course includes both Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol.
I hope that the charm is still in place. These games were everything back in the day. Will you be picking them up when they release? Let us know in the comments section.
