According to the publication, Brown will play a villain named Kurt Caldwell. The character description reads:
“Caldwell was born and raised in the town of Iron Lake. In fact, some consider him the unofficial mayor of their small town. He’s realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone – he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for… God help you.”
Dexter originally ran from 2006-2013. The finale, however, left some fans cold. The show’s star, Michael C. Hell, recently told The Daily Beast that this was a chance to make up for some of that:
“I think in this case, the story that’s being told is worth telling in a way that other proposals didn’t, and I think enough time has passed where it’s become intriguing in a way that it wasn’t before,” he said. “And let’s be real: people found the way that show left things pretty unsatisfying, and there’s always been a hope that a story would emerge that would be worth telling. I include myself in the group of people that wondered, ‘What the hell happened to that guy?’ So I’m excited to step back into it. I’ve never had that experience of playing a character this many years on.”
It will be interesting to see how this new story plays out and it will certainly be a highlight to see Brown and Hall working together on the new series.
iHorror will keep you posted on more series details as they become available.
