Have you ever been to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights event? If not, you owe it to yourself to do so as soon as possible. There really is no other Halloween celebration quite like it out there, especially when it comes to quality.
This year, Universal Orlando’s version of HHN will harken back to a time that produced many of the greatest horror films ever: the 1980s. Appropriately, the first haunted house announced for the event was Stranger Things, based on the hit 80s-set Netflix series.
Now, Universal has announced two more blasts from the 80s past for Halloween Horror Nights 28. First up is Revenge of Chucky, a scarezone starring everyone’s favorite killer doll, who this time commands a toy fair full of evil possessed playthings.
Also getting their own scarezone is the Killer Klowns from Outer Space, stars of the Chiodo Brothers’ cult classic 1988 romp. Attendees will venture inside the Klowns’ infamous spaceship/circus tent, and try not to get cocooned in cotton candy.
For those new to HHN, the terminology above might be confusing. For the record, a “haunted house” is a stationary maze attraction that guests walk through after waiting in line, while a scarezone is an outdoor area that guests can explore at their leisure.
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights sports a whopping 10 haunted houses, more than ever before. Other houses announced so far include the zombie-related Dead Exposure: Patient Zero, Trick ‘r Treat, and the grindhouse theater-themed Slaughter Sinema.
