Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

It seems like nothing – even the Satanic panic of a lawsuit – can keep Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s festive spirits down.

After a wildly popular and critically successful debut, it was announced this morning via social media that audiences can expect to spend the holidays with their new favorite coven. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will premiere a brand new holiday special on December 14th on Netflix.

While we don’t have any details as to what the holiday special will entail (fingers crossed for Krampus), you can bet that it’ll have all the witchy wonder of the Netflix original series – but maybe with a bit more snow.

It makes sense in the timeline of the show that we’d be coming up on a holiday special. The series opens right around Halloween with the subsequent episodes moving along the calendar and into November.

Series creator (and writer of the comic series on which the series is based) Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared his own teaser with a Happy Solstice season’s greeting to promote the episode.

The new stand-alone episode is reportedly titled “A Midwinter’s Tale” (which could be a riff on Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale).

So there you go. If you’ve been watching (and loving) Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, make sure to mark this on your calendar. If you haven’t had the chance to binge the entire first season just yet, there’s still time to catch up before the December 14th festivities!

And if you’re still worried about that lawsuit, you might want to read The Church of Satan’s response to The Satanic Temple’s anger towards the series (because yes, they are two different groups).
