Fan’s of King’s novel will also be excited to hear that the filmmakers are returning to the source material, diving deep into sections of the novel that may not have been covered fully in the first adaptation.

The adult cast had previously been announced with Jason Clarke (Winchester) and Amy Seimetz (Alien: Covenant) taking on the roles of Dr. Louis Creed and his wife Rachel. John Lithgow (Raising Cain) is set to play the role of neighbor Jud Crandall, originally played by Fred Gwynne, famous for his role as Herman Munster on television’s “The Munsters.”

The film, which is scheduled to be released next year is directed by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, the men behind Starry Eyes.
