One of the upcoming horror films we’ve been following closely here on iHorror is Leatherface, the next installment in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Today, we’ve got our hands on the first piece of poster art, so read on!
As previously reported, Leatherface is going to be a direct prequel to the original 1974 classic, thereby also making it a prequel to 2013’s Texas Chainsaw 3D. Yes, the film will delve into the childhood of Leatherface, which is something no other installment ever bothered to do.
French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (Inside) are the ones tasked with directing Leatherface’s teenage years, which is quite frankly music to our ears. Inside is one of the best – not to mention, most brutal – horror films in the past decade, so theirs are good hands to be in.
This morning, Fantastic Fest tweeted out a sales ad they came across while flipping through a magazine at Berlin’s European Film Market, which gives us our very first look at the upcoming prequel. What you’ll find below is the film’s poster, which is pretty damn cool looking.
Check it out and expect more real soon!
