AMC’s horror/thriller streaming platform, Shudder, is gearing up to showcase yet another horror documentary series, this one focused on a series of films that were said to be cursed. Titled Cursed Films, the series is set to debut on April 2, 2020, and ahead of the debut, they’ve released both a trailer and a new poster.

As you can see in the poster and in the trailer you can watch below, the series will focus on several classic horror films who had a variety of troubles before, during, and after filming that have cultivated this “cursed” mystique.

Of course, there’s Poltergeist which had a number of deaths surrounding the production including two of its stars. Dominique Dunne, who played the older sister in the film, was murdered by an ex-boyfriend after the first film was completed and Heather O’Rourke, who played clairvoyant Carol Anne in the film, died after the third entry in the franchise.

Then there’s The Exorcist which was plagued with one disaster after another during filming, and The Omen which suffered from the same types of occurrences. The Crow, of course, is included with the tragic death of its star, Brandon Lee, highlighted.

One film included in Cursed Films that was a bit of a surprise is Twilight Zone: The Movie. It’s not one of those films that has, perhaps, the same aura of death and doom surrounding it, and it will be interesting to see what the series brings out about it.

The docu-series is, of course, packed with interviews from actors, directors, and more, many of whom were on these terrifying film sets when the strange events occurred.

According to MovieWeb, the series will kick off with The Exorcist on April 2nd followed by The Omen and Poltergeist on April 9th, and finally culminating with The Crow and Twilight Zone: The Movie on April 16th. Additionally, the Poltergeist and The Omen episodes will screen at this year’s SXSW in Austin, Texas in March.

Check out that trailer below and mark your calendars for Cursed Films April 2, 2020 only on Shudder!
