Jacob's Ladder

It’s been almost 30 years since Tim Robbins confronted his demons in 1990’s Jacob’s Ladder, and now a new version of the classic film is on its way from director David M. Rosenthal (How It Ends).

Jacob Singer is finally getting his life back together after losing his brother in the Afghanistan war. He has a wife, a newborn, and a job as a surgeon in a VA hospital, but when a stranger approaches him and tells him his brother is actually alive, Jacob’s life begins to spin out of control.

As his mind begins to fray, he is assaulted by visions of violent attackers, people’s faces morph into something demonic, and he begins to wonder exactly what is and isn’t real.

Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), Jesse Williams (Cabin in the Woods), and Michael Ealy (The Perfect Guy) star in the new film which is set for release next month on August 23, 2019.

The new trailer gives us a few intense glimpses of what’s to come, focusing on Jacob and his visions as well as his relationship with his family. But will they be able to match the intensity of that original film?

Take a look at that trailer and let us know what you think about the new Jacob’s Ladder!
