American Horror Story: 1984

Filming on American Horror Story: 1984, due to debut September 18, 2019, began today and in honor of the occasion, Ryan Murphy took to Instagram to drop a few short videos featuring the cast/characters including a new face or two that we did not expect!

Set to the tune of Dan Hartman’s “I Can Dream About You” the cast appears in various 80s workout and fashion attire that has us totally nostalgic.

With Evan Peters sitting this season out and Sarah Paulson reportedly only making a short appearance, we’ve been wondering just who might take the lead this season.

From what we can see here, returning cast Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Emma Roberts, and Leslie Grossman will be joined by Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who was previously announced, along with Matthew Morrison (Glee), DeRon Horton (Dear White People) and Angelica Ross (Pose).

Details are still limited on exactly what the season will entail beyond an homage to the slashers of the 80s, though these videos look more and more like it will have a cool Crystal Lake-esque setting.

Is Cody Fern’s workout clothing an homage to the Jamie Lee Curtis/John Travolta classic Perfect? Is Alexandra Ross the camp nurse? Is Leslie Grossman the know-it-all camp director? Um, what exactly is going on with Matthew Morrison’s bulge?!

We’ll certainly know more as American Horror Story: 1984‘s September premiere date draws closer, and you can bet iHorror will keep you up to date on all the details as we have them!
