Castle Rock, the series based on the writings of Stephen King debuts today on Hulu, and it is shaping up to be one hell of a season.
Set in the fictional town created by the author, writers on the show have once again drawn upon classic characters, themes, and places from King’s work for the second season of the series, and this time around, it’s sure to pack a wallop.
It all begins, you see when a nurse finds herself stuck in Castle Rock. She’s not just any nurse, though. This is Annie “I’m-Your-Number-One-Fan-And-I’ll-Break-Your-Ankles” Wilkes. This is Annie long before the events of Misery, however, and she soon finds herself in the middle of the growing hostilities between two local families.
Lizzy Caplan stars as Annie Wilkes along with Elsie Fisher as her daughter, Joy.
Tim Robbins takes on the role of Reginald “Pop” Merrill, head of the Merrill family who is about as crooked as a man can be in Castle Rock. Merrill finds himself at odds with a local Somali brother and sister played by Yusra Warsama and Barkhad Abdi.
Annie’s presence is apparently the catalyst that brings the town’s tensions to a boil.
No surprises there!
The first three episodes of Castle Rock season two are available right now on Hulu! Check them out today!
