Halloween 2, as we all know wasn’t an easy thing for John Carpenter to write. It was something that ended up sort of forced upon him. Not originally intending for there to be a sequel to his 78′ classic Halloween, Carpenter was put into the throws of writers block. That is until he thought to just continue the film picking up right where the first film left off. Turns out Budweiser may have helped him to do that.

In the Brazilian TV commercial, we see a young John Carpenter setup in front of his typewriter attempting to write Halloween 2. After being tortured by writers block, an old friend comes to him and assists him in cracking open a Budweiser.

Carpenter has gone on record in interviews talking openly about the difficult process of writing Halloween 2. He has admitted that he found inspiration by having a six-pack of beer each night of the writing process.

When asked what beer he was drinking at the time, Carpenter specifically recalled it being Budweiser, due to the fact that he was able to get a buzz but not get drunk.

So there you have it, you guys. Carpenter is a Bud man. Or at least was, I would be interested to find out if he still partakes in Budweiser to this day.

The whole commercial is really cool and the added history behind only makes the entire thing that much more awesome.
