Horror icon Bruce Campbell has got a lot on his plate right now, set to reprise the role of Ash for upcoming TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead. But that’s not the only TV show he’s lending his talents to, as he’s just come on board an already established series.
TV Line reports today that Campbell will play President Ronald Reagan in the second season of FX’s Fargo, which is of course based on the same-named featured film. A prequel, Season 2 is set in the late 70s, during Reagan’s first campaign for President.
“He’s on his first campaign and he makes a swing through Fargo,” said FX Networks CEO John Landgraf. “Some of the characters have some interactions with him. And some of his movies are also a part of the show.”
It’s interesting to note that Campbell had previously appeared in a brief cameo in Fargo, the movie, seen on a TV screen. Talk about a career coming full circle, eh?
Season 2 of Fargo is set against the cultural transformation that was going on in the late 70s, and Patrick Wilson will star as a younger version of Keith Carradine’s Lou Solverson.
