The more we see of Brightburn, the more we want to see Brightburn!

Slated for release May 24, 2019, the film from Sony Pictures is written by Brian and Mark Gunn and directed by David Yarovesky. It’s an imaginative twist supposing what would happen if a superhero like Superman landed on Earth, was raised by good people in a good home, and still somehow managed to become a psychopath.

We’ve seen hints of young Brandon Breyer’s dark side in the previous trailers, but this extended clip gives us a longer look at his methods.

From the trailer, we know that the as yet unnamed character played by Becky Wahlstrom has a run in with Brandon and his mother (Elizabeth Banks) and father (David Denman) after the boy, in response to constant bullying, injures her daughter.

She demands the boy be expelled, and furthermore, that no one is even sure who or what he is. As you can imagine, this doesn’t sit well with Brandon, and he’s looking for a little payback.

Fair warning to anyone who has issues with eye trauma, this clip puts it front and center. Check it out, and get ready for Brightburn in theaters nationwide May 24, 2019.
