The casting news just keeps getting better and better for the upcoming Amazon adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s Good Omens.
Joining an already impressive cast including Michael Sheen, David Tennant, Jon Hamm, Michael McKean and Frances McDormand, it was announced today that Brian Cox will be playing Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
The news came from Gaiman’s Twitter account:
So for anybody wondering… The amazing Brian Cox plays Death in #GoodOmens. This is what Death looks like, when he’s not on a motorbike anyway. (Watch the trailer tomorrow.) pic.twitter.com/ARmFMM97uc— Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) March 5, 2019
Good Omens has been described as the most hilarious book ever written about the Apocalypse, and it has had a devout following for years.
Cox will voice Death, much in the same way McDormand will voice God. In the novel, Death was the most intangible of the Four (Motorcycle Riding) Horsemen, and his mere presence could sap the life of any living thing near him.
The actor is no stranger to genre work, having previously appeared in films like The Ring and X-Men.
The official Good Omens Twitter and Facebook accounts have also dropped a whole slew of motion posters in recent days announcing various cast and giving us a taste of what this adaptation will have to offer.
Check those out below, and prepare yourself, for the end is very, VERY nigh.
Good Omens is set to premiere on Amazon Prime May 31, 2019!
