Business Insider announced today that the horror masterminds at Blumhouse have teamed with iHeartRadio to create original scripted podcasts.

The audio-plays will cover a variety of genres including thrillers, science fiction, and murder mysteries.

Dan Bush (The Signal) has been tapped to write the first series titled The Mantawauk Caves which is being described as a blend of social drama and supernatural horror. The story centers on three boys who venture into a cave in the Appalachian Mountains, and in the end, only one will survive.

Jason Blum and Blumhouse have made their name producing numerous hits and franchises including Get OutThe PurgeMaHalloween (2018), and the upcoming reboot of Black Christmas.

“We’re such avid fans of great podcasts at Blumhouse and we were eager to partner with iHeartRadio to curate a slate of dark, fictional stories together,” Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse, told Business Insider. “We’re thrilled the partnership has already produced The Mantawauk Caves, the first of what we hope are several successful collaborations.”

iHeartRadio was founded in 2008 and is available internationally in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, and the United States offering a variety of radio stations, music choices, and podcasts under the banner of iHeartMedia, formerly Clear Channel.

The Mantawauk Caves will be told over twelve episodes and will go live next year. There is no word on casting for the podcast at this time. It will be available on iHeartRadio and the iHeartPodcast Network.
